Back to Ohio

After traveling the globe for 8 months I decided to take a quick swing by Ohio to visit family and friends. I didn’t realize how much I had missed all that was familiar until I walked into my Cheers like hangout of the German Village Coffee Shop. I ordered my usual blueberry pancake and was in heaven. I can now declare it as the best blueberry pancake in the world, nothing even comes close to this blueberry popping experience.

Timing was great and I was fortunate to get to see my great niece Carter celebrate her 4th birthday. She was nearly vibrating with the excitement of her party. This picture says it all as she is the one on the far left.

From Columbus I went to Catawba on the shores of Lake Erie to visit with my brother and sister=in=law and their condo with great views of the lake. Sitting on their patio we often indulge in watching “Boat Porn” as we can sit for hours watching the yachts coming in and out of the channel. Of course, we had to do the proverbial visit to Marble Head Light House and Netties Hot Dog stand.  The lake is extremely high this year with water lapping over docks and flooding roadways.  And the rain continues to flow. I had forgotten just how cold it can be in Ohio in June  and  came unprepared for the 48 degree temperatures. I had to make an emergency run to TJ Maxx to get a few sweaters.

I didn’t realize how much I missed Ohio, and family and friends and blueberry pancakes until I came back and paused for a spell.  Life really is good.
