FINALLY it’s time for a Safari in Senegal

Classic Giraffes
Looking for Lunch – can you name this animal – I’ve forgotten
Just finished Lunch
Then time for a nap

My Safari in Senegal was an unexpected treasure. I had my doubts as Bandai Wildlife Reserve is just an hour outside of Dakar the largest city in Senegal with a population of over 6 million. I was expecting a cross between the Columbus Zoo and Disneys Wilderness experience. In this place the animals seemed wild but you didn’t have to spend hours seeing nothing, something was around every corner. This visit rekindled my desire to see the Serengeti migration – can you say wildebeest!

  1. SO envious of the giraffe sightings. Now that you’ve been there, I highly recommend the book West With Giraffes, based on true story during the depression. Was one of our surprise favorite books of my book club (and me, and Greg, and everyone we’ve recommended it to. here’s a review. https://www.jacksonville.com/story/entertainment/books/2021/07/18/book-review-west-giraffes-lynda-rutledge/7957602002/#:~:text=The%20truly%20inspiring%20part%20of,With%20Giraffes”%20is%20that%20book.
